Near the old city. A plus for touring.

Staff not particularly friendly. Stayed in 2 separate rooms on 2 occasions. 1st room was adequate but with a miserable shower. 2nd room was tiny but with a better shower.

I loved this hotel. Value for money was excellent. It was comfortable, clean, friendly, beautifully situated for much less money than the fancy hotels across the st.

  • 5.8

Room size and the fact that the car rental office is downstairs.

Staff was extremely unhelpful, not greeting even, and sometimes refusing to acknowledge our presence. We witnessed a scene when the receptionist was unbelievably rude to an older gentleman. No blankets in rooms even if quite cold, and when we asked for some, we were asked why. Also charging extra than what booked on site so do check the receipt- when I confronted the girl, she said it is for extra expenses that might incur, yet the phone in the room did not work and the fridge was empty !! Overall a hotel quite distant from the Old City, good for a practical one night stay though a bit pricey and do not expect manners.

The location was great. The staff was helpful. It was a good basic hotel that offered value for money.

    The breakfast was fair.

  • 9.2
    Superb

The location was ideal for access to the Old City, the Mamilla shopping and restaurants.

The double bed was two twin beds pushed together, and they tended to move apart.

  • 6.6
    Good

The Hotel is close to the old city of Jerusalem and the Mamillian Mall which makes it one of the best locations in Jerusalem

The hotel was not cleaned well and the floors and serfice of table were extremly dirty. The staff were generally uninterested and rude but location made up for this

The location was excellent-10 minutes walk to the Old City, 10 minutes walk to the downtown. Close to lots of points of interests, great dining, etc. Also, breakfast included in price was great-rich, tasteful, healthy.

The first night we had a flying cockroach landed in our bed. Naturally, we wanted to leave, but the stuff persuaded us that it came from outside and usually those things don't happen. So we gave it a chance, stayed, and indeed no more cockroaches. But we were surprised by the absence of shampoo and conditioner, the bathroom was equipped only by liquid soap. Had to buy both. Also, the water tended to be either hot or cold, was hard to mix it to the normal warm temperature.. The private free parking, though very useful to have, was rather small, horrible space.

    Great location

Carpet in room had spots.. New carpet would make the room more desirable.

Nice Breakfasts. Nice tv. Ymca next door was excellent for meals.

Parking was difficult. No dinner meals available.

    Fabulous

Unbeatable location -- the hotel is within an easy walk to Zion and Jaffa gates, next to Mamilla shopping mall and Artists' Colony. Overall, it is quiet, homey and laid-back. Apart from its location, one of the best things about this hotel is generous and very palatable breakfast.

For this money, one would expect a "touch of style" and a "special ambiance/character". Don't. But then again, let's be fair, it would be hard to find anything this decent for this money in, say, London or New York.

    Fabulous

Location. 10 minutes walk to the Old City and 10 minutes walk to the Ben Yahuda pedestria area.

  • 8.2
    Fabulous

The location cannot be better, right across the street from King David hotel. Short walk to Jaffa gate and restaurants.

You will not be spending time in these small rooms

Eldan's location is probably the most convenient of any moderately priced hotel if you want to tour the Old City. It is also convenient to the Yafo Road area and numerous restaurants. I rented a car from the Eldan car rental in the building and parked it in the free underground parking. Our room was spacious and well maintained. The breakfast spread was more than I could eat. One limitation for some people may be that lunch and dinner is not available, but this was not important for us since we were always out touring. There is an internet unit in the lobby that we could enter with a coin. The #18 bus to the central bus station that stops in front of the hotel goes to the central bus station from where you can get anywhere. We didn't use it, but our grandson did to visit us on his own. The front desk was extremely helpful-it helped me find a wine store where I could buy a particular Israeli wine as a house gift. It provided a plug converter for our camera recharger. A good choice for five days.

    Fabulous

Good for the hotel rating. Breakfast had a good range and was readily available. Staff were friendly. Location was excellent - walking distance to centre of old city and good access to public transport.

The weak link in the chain was the trundle bed provided for this "three person" room. As it was we were only two, however, if there had have been a third we don't think s/he would have been that happy!

    Very good

It does the job. Not the most luxurious hotel, but it's clean and the staff (once you make the effort to know them) are friendly and very helpful. Food for breakfast was very good, and they are not bothered if you take food out of the dining hall. The location was pretty good being a 15 minute or so walk to the old city and Kotel. Very near the Mamila shopping Mall.

The hotel would benefit from having a bar. Sometimes in the evening it would be nice to sit down and have a few drinks with other guests, but there is no facility to do this.
